1955 second printing of a 1954 aerial photography book covering Japan’s four main islands. All photos were taken by Japanese photographers from 1952 (when Japan regained control of its airspace) to 1954. Shown are Hiroshima, Osaka, Tokyo, Niseko and Hakodate in Hokkaido as well as many other locals. Evidence of Japan’s wartime destruction can be seen amongst the rapid urbanization and rebuilding. 100 pages of monochrome photos.
